Board of Directors
Kadri Muhiddin is the appointed Executive Chairman of the board of Tailwind Airlines. He is industry qualified and brings with him over 35 years of industry related experience. As well as his involvement with Tailwind Airlines he is also a co-founder and CEO of AMAC Aerospace in Basel, Switzerland which is broadly involved in aircraft engineering, whilst he is also the Chairman and owner of an aviation consultancy company based at Stansted airport in the United Kingdom.
Mehmet Demir Uz is the Deputy Chairman of Tailwind Airlines. He also comes with industry related qualifications and experience in excess of 35 years. Previously he held such positions as Aircraft Maintenance Manager for Turkish Airlines and later as Technical Director for Istanbul Airlines.
Safi Ergin is an appointed board member at the same time as being Managing Director of Tailwind Airlines. He brings with him over 25 years of aviation experience in airline operations. He was one of the founders of Turkeys first private airline, namely Istanbul Airlines and is the founding Chairman of TOSHID where he has been the Board Chairman for 10 years.
Cabin Services Management
Tailwind Airlines Cabin Services Management is managed by Özlem Sözer, and the company has a management system that maintains the team spirit and team work at the highest level with the precisely selected cabin personnel according to the requirements of national and international authorities and in conformity with safe and secure flight operation principles. Tailwind Airlines Cabin Trainings are conducted under the leadership of Cabin Training Manager Rüya Yılmaz with the experienced instructor staff according to requirements and standards determined by national and international authorities.
Tailwind Airlines flight team is headed up by our Flight Operations Director Captain Muhsin Akgün who is a highly qualified and experienced captain. On average other captains within the airline will have an average of 20 years experience. Our cabin crew will have an average of 10 years international experience. They will bring their expertise to the fore to provide it's passengers with a complete experience of safety and comfort whilst flying with Tailwind Airlines.
Tailwind Airlines' ground operation directorate enables the performance of passenger and aircraft services pursuant to International Civil Aviation Organizations IATA/ICAO/Jbb rules to provide a safe, prompt and efficient customer satisfied service in accordance with the company and Civil Aviation Directives. Ground operations staff is supervised by Zafer Karagözoğlu who ensures that all Tailwind passengers are provided with a comfortable journey and a catering service standard of the best quality.
Tailwind Airlines Security Management is structured under the management of Nejla Coşkun, to provide the security of all passengers, personnel and assets at the maximum level according to national and international regulations and to keep it at the maximum level with continuously increasing security awareness.
Sales and Marketing Management
Our Sales and Marketing director is İpek Erdoğmuş. Her department consists of a team of professionals experienced in tourist charter flights, private flights as well as wet lease flights. The sales and marketing team offers a fast and professional service to all its customers and tour operators.
Our technical department is led and managed by professional aircraft engineer Atilla Güney who has structured the engineering section of Tailwind Airlines in accordance with Civil Aviation rules and directives. Maintenance and flight safety remain at the forefront so that our aircraft maintenance is performed by Tailwind's own team of experienced engineers and technicians pursuant to Turkish and European Joint Aviation rules SHY/JAR-145. Aircraft base and engine maintenance is furthermore performed under the supervision of Tailwind's quality system and by specialised and recognized EASA part 145 certified maintenance organizations.
Training Department under the leadership of Training Director Captain Pilot Orhan Pehlivan realizes the Basic and Refreshing Training of company personnel in conformity with the national and international regulations with the qualified, experienced and Directorate General of Civil Aviation certified instructor staff.
Quality Department under the management of Mehmet Bostan controls the conformity of the work of all Tailwind departments and suppliers with the national - international regulations and operation procedures and contributes the improvement of the same with corrective/preventive activities when required. For other staff of the department, experienced and qualified personnel are employed.
Security and Safety
The top management's willingness to support the objective of the Corporate's Safety Value and consistency in the development of our safety culture is demonstrated by its investment in people , facilities and equipment. The complete manifestation of the culture requires:
- Management commitment to the establishment and maintenance of a safe workplace and its practices.
- Setting goals based on safety enhancement and accident prevention strategies,
- The inclusion of safety and risk considerations into business developments and operational changes.
- The proactive incorporation of safety principles and controls into standard operating procedures.
- Personnel to be provided with the necessary and required training to ensure that they maintain their skills and abilities.
- Provide awareness through training, to ensure personnel have a common understanding of safety and the nature of hazards.
- By using written and verbal communication tools, the promotion of reporting incidents/accidents and potential hazards on a non-punitive basis.
- A need to have open dialogue with regards to safety related information between management and personnel.
- Enlisting the support of all personnel in developing solutions to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices.
- Vigilant application by each individual in conducting their duties, adhering to all national and international standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
These will service the tour operators who will provide 'package holidays' to Turkey or Europe. The flights will be seasonal and or weekly to and from Europe to Turkey. Dates and destinations to be confirmed through those designated tour operators.
Individual aircraft lease per agreed dates and destination for private groups, companies, sports clubs and or VIPs.
Aircraft can be available on a lease agreement with a full crew for any given period to be agreed which will include any maintenance liability and aircraft insurance. The flights will be subject to the flight number of that airline customer and the passenger insurance will be the liability of that airline. Tailwind Airlines has elected the Boeing B737 to be the first aircraft to service its airline. More than 6500 aircraft of this type have been sold and provided to 230 airlines worldwide.
